Diversity, Equity, Inclsuion and the Bible

In a recent video, Pastor Bryan Loritts' teachings were critically examined, revealing a blend of truth and falsehood reminiscent of the serpent's deception in Genesis 3. This article aims to expose the flaws in Loritts' message and emphasize the importance of sound doctrine in Christian teaching which is the only way to experience victory in Jesus Christ.

A Misguided Gospel

Pastor Bryan Loritts has been promoting the idea that a multiethnic church is the key to healing America. While the desire for unity is commendable, the approach Loritts takes interjects race into the gospel, which is a deviation from the true message of Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly warns against using worldly solutions to address spiritual problems, as seen in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The solution to sin and division is found in Christ alone, not in social constructs.

Historical Misuse of Scripture

Historically, the Bible has been misused to justify racial superiority and slavery, causing significant harm and perpetuating false doctrines. Slave owners cherry-picked scriptures to support their oppressive practices, ignoring the true message of the gospel. This misuse of scripture is a stark reminder of the dangers of distorting God's word to fit human agendas. Similarly, Loritts' approach risks repeating this error by suggesting that racial diversity is a solution to spiritual issues.

True Nature of Sin and Redemption

The core of the Christian message is that sin, not race, separates humanity from God. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross was not a flesh-based solution but a spiritual one. Hebrews 9:22 states, "Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness." It was the sinless life in Jesus' blood that brought redemption, not His physical attributes. Thus, any teaching that shifts the focus from spiritual reconciliation to racial integration misses the mark.

Biblical Separation and Unity

God's plan for humanity includes both separation and unity, but these are based on holiness, not race. Throughout the Bible, God separates His people to preserve their holiness and protect them from idolatry (Leviticus 20:26). The church is called to be in the world but not of it (John 17:16), maintaining spiritual purity while engaging with a diverse society. The true diversity that God values is the diversity of spiritual gifts within the body of Christ, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 12:4-6.

Racial Teaching is not Biblical

Pastor Bryan Loritts' teachings on race and the gospel are fundamentally flawed because they propose a flesh-based answer to a spiritual problem. True reconciliation and healing come from the transformative power of the gospel, not from racial integration. The church must focus on spiritual unity, grounded in the truth of God's word, and reject any doctrine that diverts from this foundation. As believers, we are called to uphold the purity of the gospel and seek holiness above all else.

Brian Loritts Must Repent

It is imperative for Pastor Loritts and others who propagate similar teachings to repent and return to the true message of the gospel. The church must remain vigilant against false doctrines and ensure that the message of Christ remains untainted by worldly influences. Only through adherence to biblical truth can we hope to achieve the true unity and healing that God desires for His people.
